Ode to Poe

Out of the dreariness
Into its cheeriness
Come we in weariness
Home

I wish I wrote this line. But no, it's from American author Stephen Chalmers

Christmas 2011

The retrospective that I am brings out old things during Christmas, things I love and know so well.
Like the Manger on Twentieth December
The Sparkly Birds of Poe
The Silver Reindeer in the yard
And of course the thousand Twinklies all around.

The WinterTee however, is something new, something Viennese.

"Wintermarchen"

There are holidays.
And then are places that completely steal your heart.
Far-flung, yet somewhat familiar. As if acquainted in my dreams.
Or perhaps, in a previous life.

Vienna was one of those, a pre-Christmas get-away with my dearest sister.
A magical ten days we shall hope to replicate.
Every year come First December.
